Favorite season

[personal profile] runpunkrun asked: "Favorite season? And traditions or memories you associate with it?"

While I feel like I should be even-handed about liking all the seasons, I have to say my favorite season is spring. All the gorgeous flowering trees and tulips and the sun coming out and warmer weather! Also my birthday is in mid-April and it's just such a celebratory-feeling time of year.

I especially like azaleas and rhododendrons, and make an annual ritual of visiting Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden. Here's a post with pictures. Sadly I completely missed it this year because it shut down for the pandemic just before everything started blooming. Possibly this coming spring??

How about you? What's your favorite season, and what do you like about it?

We used to go to Crystal Springs all the time when I was a kid! Haven't been there in decades, probably.

I didn't have a favorite season until I went away to college. I don't know if it's just because I was outside more (all that walking to classes) or if the weather was different enough to finally register, but I learned I loved the changing of the leaves, and the slow change of the weather from too hot to warm and then a little chilly. So now fall's easily my favorite season.

Spring is a lovely season when all the plants come back and grace us with their colors. It's a nice change of pace to have color to look at while it rains.
