kass wrote a trio of The Book Thief ficlets crossed over with the Megillah of Esther for Purimgifts, and says, "They all have the same very short descriptive text, because they're really three parts of a whole. If you are the kind of person who enjoyed The Book Thief and knows the basic story of Purim, you might enjoy these too!" I haven't read canon, do know the story of Purim, and enjoyed the writing and narratives very much.
