Mask sampler kit on sale at Armbrust

For folks who are still masking, and have not yet found their One True Mask, or would like to try some others anyway. Armbrust USA (in Texas) is having a sale where you can get a Mask Sampler for $10 including shipping. I'm assuming this is USA-only. Via Jamie on mastodon.

I make a habit of removing tracking info from links, but when I removed the "variant" from this link, the cost changed to $5, but shipping was astronomical. I only realized this after I ordered, or I might have skipped it. Caveat emptor.

I'm posting this now rather than waiting until I get my order, since it looks like they're having a 10-day sale that might affect the cost.

My go-to mask has been a KN94 from Masklab.us. I'm interested in trying other masks because they don't fully seal around my face unless I add a knot to one or both ear loops, and I've also gotten self-conscious about the way they cover most of my face. So I'm ready to experiment with other options, and also it's good to have masks to give away when someone else needs one.

Thanks. I've been getting ACI duck-bill style N95 masks from them, but decided it might be worth trying other styles, even though we have enough masks in our closet that we just donated a box of 50 to Adrian's synagogue. (If you want people to mask, it makes sense to provide them with good masks.)

Agreed, donating good masks is a way to encourage people to mask. (Although it kinda sucks that the costs fall to more vulnerable people...)

Armbrust doesn't ship outside the US. I know this because I really wanted to get their elastomeric mask as it's the only one that doesn't make you look like you're trying to evade a mustard gas attack in WWI. Luckily, a friend of mine who lives in the US agreed to have it shipped to her, and she reshipped it to me in Canada. It's great thus far. I won't use the earloop masks anymore -- I was mostly using them, and despite masking all the time in public, I got Covid for the first time last December. If I do put an earloop mask on after using my elastomeric mask, or a proper N95, I can feel so much coming in and out when I breathe.

Good to know about not shipping outside the US, and Armbrust having a good elastomeric mask. I know what you mean about most of those masks looking dire. I have one I haven't used yet, but I keep it in case of more bad wildfire smoke.
