My Wordpress website is live! TraumaHealed.com In the sidebar, you can see the new categories that will be part of the next book, "Presence After Trauma". You can see all the articles in a single category by clicking on a category name.

One person mentioned that they miss the old Articles table of contents. (Thank you for the feedback!) I added an Articles by Date summary page, available under the Articles menu and on the sidebar. I'll work on adding an Articles by Category summary page as well. Programming for Wordpress is a whole new adventure.

"Gifts" did not really work for me, but the sequel "Voices" is one of my favorite books ever. It's set in the same world as "Gifts," but not really the same place, and major characters in one book are minor characters in the other. It's about a different kind of response to trauma than I've seen elsewhere. (Our protagonist is the child of rape, because her mother was in a conquered city. This not trivialized.)

Huh, thank you for telling me that. I'll read it then. Based on "Gifts" I had decided not to read the sequels.

Interestingly, I was recently thinking about "Lord Foul's Bane", which I last read probably 30 years ago, where the protagonist rapes a young woman, and then the daughter of that rape shows up in the next book. The whole thing *is* trivialized there, though. :-P This is definitely not a rec for those books.
