I received feedback that the mix of ironic and direct statements in last month's article How to Irritate Your Nervous System could be confusing and distressing. I added a paragraph:
If you notice a strong visceral response to reading these suggestions, you may already have explored your body's reactions to irritation thoroughly. You can reverse the suggestions to move in the direction of calm.You can apply that to any advice you receive. If you experience an internal revolt, maybe you've already done enough of that and want to try the opposite.
