Oof, long day
Dec. 10th, 2018 09:50 pmMy day started with biking to my acupuncture appointment, which was lovely. I left feeling settled and grounded.
And discovered that my rear bike tire was flat. I was supposed to take my cat in to the vet for a urine sample right after I got home from my appointment, so I called them and rescheduled for the evening.
Walked up to the bike shop I'd been thinking of visiting soon anyway because I wasn't happy with how the bike was braking, and left the bike with them to get the flat fixed, new brake pads, wheels trued, and generally looked over. Yes, I know how to fix a flat, and I'll happily trade $15 and a half hour of walking not to have to. It was a pleasant enough walk through a semi-industrial neighborhood.
Took the bus home. Saw one go by, but another one came along 5 minutes after I got to the stop, whew. The 6 bus supposedly runs every 15 minutes, but it's frequent but not reliable, because it has a long, trafficky route.
Had time to pump the tires on my old bike, set it up with the bike trailer, and cook a quick lunch before my 1pm client. Finished session cleanup at 2:45pm.
Had my last Untangling/Focusing class of the series via Zoom online 3-5pm.
Scooped up the cat (who had been sleeping peacefully on my lap), plopped him into his carrier, and biked off with him to the vet. Remembered to dig up the old lock and a small light, since my usual lock and the good light's mount were in the shop with my bike. Fortunately the vet tech was very kind and quick, and I was back home in time to eat a quick dinner before my 6pm client.
At the vet they asked with great concern if I had gotten my flat fixed. I said yes, it was all good, and realized that I was still feeling settled and grounded, even after all that. Whatever the acupuncturist did seems to have worked really well!
Finished session cleanup at 7:45pm. Caught up with accounting, read dreamwidth, rested for a bit, and decided I still had the energy to bike to the co-op, where they have 10% off on the 10th of the month. It's nice out, not too cold (with sufficient layers) and not raining.
And now I'm catching up with sending reminder emails and making this post.
