An unexpected package
Dec. 19th, 2018 07:46 pmI made a donation to NAYA (Native American Youth and Family Center) through a "give guide", and today I received a package from them. Apparently, I forgot to uncheck "send swag."
As I brought in the slim square cardboard package, I thought, "That looks like an LP mailer." As I carried it to the table to slice the tape, I thought, "Wow, this really looks like an LP mailer. I wonder what they're sending out that's just the size of an LP."
When I first opened it, I thought, "Oh, of course, it's a calendar." Then I looked more closely at the sticker that says, "Portugal The Man Woodstock 180-gram vinyl featuring the global smash hit "Feel It Still" download card included." It really is an LP! Interesting that I have a clear enough sense of the size of an LP that my brain recognized the package. I own very few LPs, but my dad had a huge collection.
What I don't own is a record player, and I no longer have my neighbor's on long-term loan. If you would like to own this LP and live in the US, let me know in comments and I will tape the distinctively sized mailer back up and send it off to you. Here's the wikipedia entry with track listing.
If more than one person is interested, I'll roll an appropriately-sided die (yes, I do still have my D&D dice collection, why do you ask?) and post the winner in a few days, and you can DM me an address.

ETA: Since there was no flood of interest in the record here, I took it with me to folk dancing last night, and someone claimed it eagerly for her husband. Yay, problem solved!
