Furniture out the door
Apr. 25th, 2022 05:45 pmThis weekend was sunny and warm in the midst of a string of rainy cold weather. The timing worked out really well, because I posted to my dance list that I'm leaving and here's some furniture that's available for free, and people came and got things when it was dry, rather than trying to load furniture into vehicles in the rain.
I also put a large modular metal mesh storage shelf out with a free sign, and it was gone the next time I looked out the window. I think one of my neighbors must have picked it up and walked it home, because I can't imagine someone could have loaded it in a car that fast. Enjoy!
The big wooden chest bed and Craftsman-style couch are being hauled away tomorrow. It's shocking to me that I have to pay to get rid of solid oak furniture in good condition, but times have changed. Annie Haul promises that they try to donate things before taking them to the dump, so I will just hope that someone somewhere will enjoy this furniture.
There are more empty spaces in the house, and more full boxes. Progress is being made. I think I'm on track to be done packing by the time I leave with no last minute panics. I hope so.
The apartment complex where I'm renting just called and the one on the third floor I rented starting May 9 won't be ready in time, but they have a supposedly identical one on the fifth floor that could be ready. I guess that's fine? Since the person was calling me anyway I asked her to check if the place reeked of perfume, because that would be miserable for me. She's going to call back tomorrow morning. I'm just trying to go with the flow at this point.
(Absolutely no promises about 3 weeks for dreamwidth while I'm working and moving, especially when the actual move is happening, but perhaps there will be a few more frequent short posts than there would have been otherwise.)
