As I pedaled north from my house, across the first intersection, I noticed bike gloves on the street. With pink patches. Wait a minute, those are *my* bike gloves! Short-fingered ones, and I'd switched to long-fingered. Hadn't noticed they were missing, but apparently I left them on the back rack last time I headed north. Whew, glad I noticed them and no one else picked them up.

Yesterday I noticed a message on my phone from an unfamiliar number. A guy said he had my purse. Hurriedly went over to the backpack I took to dancing the night before, and sure enough, no purse. Ulp! The dance place is all the way across town, and I was busy seeing clients. Luckily and very kindly, he was headed generally past my place and dropped it off for me. WHEW, that could have been bad. As it was, I didn't even know it was missing until it was on its way back to me. Glad I have business cards in there so he could call me, too.

What is *up* with losing things?! Without even noticing! And thank goodness for the kindness of strangers. Ordinarily I don't misplace things all the time.

I've become so talented at losing things that I routinely get multiples and scatter them around the house. It's annoying but at least I spend less time wandering, wondering what it is I'm looking for.

This story makes me twitch - I can imagine being in that situation all too well!
