I was telling a wise friend that this isn't the life I envisioned for myself. My wise friend paused and said, "I don't think anyone is having the life they envisioned. Or even actively planned for."
Oh. Here I was thinking that everyone else is leading clockwork, orderly, normal, planned lives, and I was the only one who had gotten it wrong somehow. I know better when I stop and think about it, but I needed his words to make me stop and think. Thanks, Robert.
