Meanwhile it is an absolutely gorgeous sunny day and I have spent a lot of time sitting on the back porch reading. The birds make slight bell-like sounds scrabbling with their little claws on the metal bird feeder. We had a couple of visits from a Steller's jay. Gorgeous fellow. Also messy, since he's too big for the feeder, so he flaps wildly and scatters seeds everywhere.
