Dec. 21st, 2022 09:29 pmMy biking buddy is visiting! He moved out of Portland before I did, which was one of the reasons I started thinking about leaving.
Before his visit, I looked into bike rentals, thought about routes, pre-rode some of them, thought about food, went to the farmers market, and generally put effort into making it a good visit. We had a fabulous time today! Everything went smoothly and we rode about 30 miles up in the hills and along the Bay Trail and halfway out the Bay Bridge and then part way up the hills again just to get another good view.
This evening he said my hospitality feels like an antidote to travel stress, with home-cooked meals and lots of exercise. The way he said it really made me feel appreciated and successful at something I put effort into. \o/
Spending all day out in the sun biking and visiting gardens is a great way to celebrate the winter solstice!
