Games! Variations on 2048

Awhile back, the 2048 game burst on the scene. Here are 3 variations for when you have time to spare.

PhD 2048 plays in your browser. The tiles have words on them that might be steps toward a PhD, like Code, and Paper. Also some tiles turn into Garbage that just gets in the way, and sometimes a Relationship shows up and upgrades tiles, but then it turns into a Breakup and downgrades your efforts instead.

Hexels also plays in your browser. It has a hexagonal board and numbered tiles that increase by 1 rather than doubling. Bonus if you line up more than 2 of the same number to squash together.

There's a free iOS version of Hexels called Hext. I have played this game a lot on my phone! The high score board hasn't changed in a long time, so I don't know if anyone else still plays. I'm actually on there! Possibly a fluke since I've never gotten near that high score again, but I have gotten up to a 14 tile periodically. 15 continues to elude me.

PhD 2048 looks like a total hoot!

There’s a sideways version that I have on my phone:

It’s a bit easier than standard 2048, and it soothes me when nothing else will.
