Intriguing to read both of those pieces, and perhaps a bit dismayed that something like the relationship in the story has to be a thing conceived of in speculative fiction, rather than something more like a default.

Yeah... I've had enough respectful, collaborative working relationships to know they're possible. I wish I knew how to create or invite more, because I miss them desperately.
