John Simnel’s First Goshawk by Tegan Moore. This is not an easy story to read. It's been sitting open in my browser for a while, and I still don't know what to say about it. But I haven't wanted to close the tab and forget about it, either. Content notes: Small animal harm (hunted by a hawk), and defeat/taming/enslavement.
