Queer Week Comic: “This is Not Our First Pandemic” by Sarah Mirk. A comic with interviews of folks who went through the AIDS pandemic.
When Malcom Gregory Scott read that the U.S. was utterly unprepared to test millions of people for COVID-19, he didn't feel surprised. He felt a sickening familiarity.

Thanks for the Sarah Mirk comic. I've been having lots of AIDS-related thoughts that I think properly belong in my own journal, I say having written three paragraphs in this comment box :) so I'll move them over there.

I lived in the sf bay area during the AIDS pandemic. When COVID19 started, I knew exactly where we were headed. And yet again, it could have been mostly prevented or controlled and I'm angry all over again.

One would have thought we learned from HIV/AIDS, but the reality apparently is only a certain set of people learned and joined the people who already knew this was going to have scary echoes. The other people still seem to think that morality can somehow protect or condemn a person, rather than the actions that come from those morals.
