Echad Mi Yodea, by Ohad Naharin, performed by Batsheva - the Young Ensemble. Music starts at :40. Good speakers and full screen view recommended.

"Echad Mi Yodea" - Who Knows One. This is a Passover children's song, counting up with various Biblical references. The version in my head is performed by a child's voice. Wikipedia has the lyrics.

This performance is entirely serious. It looks like it's part of a modern dance opera. The dancers are fantastic! Here's more about this piece.

It looks to me like the dancers' movements are expressions of committing and receiving violence, especially the one on the end of the line. The scene at the end reminds me of the shoe room at the National Holocaust Museum.

ETA 2024: An outdoor version in an Italian piazza, with the dancers looking somewhat older.

As an unrelated chaser, a rehearsal video of Seattle's Balkan choir back in 2017. Dunava singing Proču Se Moma Nedelja over ice cream (Facebook link).
