I just went through the annual ritual of renewing my handful of domains at Hover.com. I bought one of them right at the end of December one year, so I start getting reminder emails in late November, and then I just renew all of them at once.

They've gone up to $18.99/year, which makes me wonder if I really should let a couple of them go next time. But they're like polished stones, appealing to hold even if they don't have other uses. The ones for the first two books in particular, I've never publicized, but I'd also hate for someone else to squat on them.

traumahealed.com is the one I've put out there the most over the years. Others are sundownarts.com (original domain, main email address), sundownhealingarts.com (publisher name), wellspringofcompassion.com (book 1 title), presenceaftertrauma.com (book 2 title), curioushealing.com (book blog)

I also have soniaconnolly.com which I turned into a programmer resume site last year, and balkandancing.com, which I mostly use to keep an ever-expanding list of folk dance videos.

Oh, thank you! I just had the best time looking through the dance videos. So nostalgic! The Alunelul video from 1977 was amusing because of the quality of the old technology and the dance was just as I remembered it. I probably learned it that year. So many familiar names on that list of dances. And the songs, too. I remember two ways to sing Sto Mi E Milo, both quite satisfying.
There's no folk dancing where I live but sometimes I dance around the house at night, in the dark.

Oh, gosh, yes, I remember that Alunelul also. And I looked through the alphabetical list of dances (aka time sink / source of vast knowledge -- hahaha!) Thank you for including that link. What a rabbit hole!! I will enjoy this flash from the past.

Thanks, also, for your invitation to join the zoom dance sessions. I can't quite envision how that might feel. What I loved was being part of a group moving in unison. And the social aspect of it. I'm not well now, and I'm much less social than I was when young. I will let you know if I want to try it out. Either way, I love that you offered. What a doll!

I use Porkbun for my domain reg and they're currently at $11.08 USD for .com domains, if that helps!

So far no, and they include domain privacy and stuff with the cost which I like. Apparently the yearly price increases is because the wholesale registry company's price cap got removed a few years ago, which is why a .com no long costs $8 like it used to. :/ Porkbun's great about messaging about price increases and giving you a chance to buy at the lower price, though.

Your resume is very impressive

I specialize in understanding and improving complex codebases that have been in use for enough years to accumulate dismaying technical debt.

Sure to intrigue a good project manager.

I love that you can find the tangible satisfaction of a worry stone in a domain name!
