I adored The Magic Fish!

I agree that the age-cues were puzzling. They are culturally-bound as well as highly-stylized in East Asian graphic novels.

(Contradicting my earlier comment, following comics twitter is pretty great. Lots of nifty pictures from people who are expert at squeezing ideas into brief paragraphs.)

I keep wondering who I can buy The Magic Fish for. I decided family relations are a little too fraught to send it to my 14 year old nephew, lest it be interpreted as a Message. Maybe I need my own copy, just in case.
