I've been thinking about disability as it relates to building social and business connections. Sensitivity to fragrances, to many foods, to loud sounds, and to being overwhelmed limit my opportunities to build connections. I don't have any wise thoughts on the matter, but seeing the link between the two is new for me.
I likedlaughingrat's post about getting upset being seen as being "less adult." Our perception of emotions and emotional displays is pretty tightly interwound with status and power.
