Michigan Seems Like a Dream to Me Now by Marissa Lingen,
mrissa. A soft, gentle post-apocalyptic bedtime story.
I was surprised to hear the narrator called "mommy" toward the end - I had assumed it was a dad putting the kid to bed. Not sure whether I was projecting from similar stories read in childhood that always had male protagonists, or if there was some other signal that made my brain think it was a guy speaking. I'm curious if anyone else had that reaction.
