My hair had gotten long enough so that the braid was swinging into whatever I was doing as I bent over, and it was more and more of a hassle to french braid. I've been wondering if I could get a friend to trim it for me, but I hadn't gathered the courage to ask. I wasn't sure if I wanted to try cutting it again myself, but this morning I rewatched the videos I found before, gathered the scissors and scrunchies and comb, washed my hair, and then found myself going ahead and doing the job.
I cut off about 8 inches, and I think it will be bra-strap length when it dries. I'm reasonably satisfied with the length and evenness, especially since I braid it almost all the time.
I didn't realize it had been almost a year and half since I cut it last! It's been a busy time!
See, it didn't turn out badly at all! It's a few inches longer than I first estimated.

I miss braiding my hair -- tis a soothing activity.
You're getting a lot of practice.
