More stories! All is well

Don't have to know canon for these two stories, because I didn't, except for Tombs of Atuan (Earthsea), and I don't think that's needed either. Both of these made me smile.
An Occasion On Which Yudah Cohen Was, Shockingly, Not Required To Meddle by
whetherwoman. Yudah Cohen Series - Rebecca Fraimow. Wonderfully told Jewish folktale.
The Place of Birds by
Vaznetti. Earthsea - Ursula K. Le Guin, Piranesi - Susanna Clarke. Great opening line, and the story carries forward with wonderfully drawn textures, of both the environment and the person experiencing it.

Also, The White Ladies of the Ring by
Luzula. Earthsea - Ursula K. Le Guin. Helpful to know canon for this one, although it's probably still a sweet read without knowing. "There was a sorcerer imprisoned in the Labyrinth, and Arha had told Kossil that she would kill him—but she did not want to. Perhaps she needed to ask someone for help..."
To join in the theme of "all is well," it's been a week for finding things. I moved into this place a year and a half ago, and it's not that big, and I generally have a good memory for where I put things. But some things had just vanished. I figured maybe I got rid of them or gave them away without remembering?

- The laundry mesh bags were in a cabinet that I don't need to open that often.
- The homemade soft-scrub turned out to be under the bag of rags I had stashed in the big bucket. I got the rags out to dig for one to use as a patch, and was surprised to see the bag wasn't filling the whole bucket.
- The two extra BART cards I looked *everywhere* for when a friend was visiting, turned out to be hiding inside my Berkeley bike/walk map. I knew they were here somewhere! I told the friend she'll have to come back, although if I remember right, she used a virtual card on her phone anyway.
- The second CD in a set I got from Hatikvah Music turns out to be an album I loved as a kid and remembered in detail. Interesting to compare my sonic memory of the LP through my dad's speakers with the CD through my speakers. Also I hear details differently after all these years of studying singing. There's something deeply comforting in listening to music that fits just so into my grooves of memory.
