I am very tired and it's been a long day so here, have a geeky joke my friend just told me when I said I'd been trying to help my 15 year old nephew with his robotics project.

How many software engineers does it take to screw in a lightbulb?

Naming, cache invalidation, and off by one errors.

Ha ha ha off by one errors made me laugh so hard I wheezed.

The pool manager had the very best Dad joke. A swimmer ask her, seriously, “what’s the warmest lane?” She replied, the “corners are all 90 degrees.”

I hope the recipient thought the pool joke was funny! I get frustrated when I get a joke in response to a serious question.

I know people who turn everything into a pun, and I realized it diverts the conversation from what I was trying to say and makes it about their cleverness. In smaller amounts, it’s less of a problem.
