Matt Kiser has continued to publish whatthefuckjusthappenedtoday.com since he started on January 20, 2017. It's also available at wtfjht.com (or used to be, anyway. It's not resolving at the moment)(now ok again). It has a summary of the top handful of stories, with a neutral journalistic tone that manages to convey how fucked up it all is at the same time.

I mostly avoid looking, but I like knowing it's there if I want to catch up on the latest fuckery.

I've moved to a system of looking at the main news once per day, in the morning over breakfast. It's probably better for me, though as Our Fearful Leader has started making announcements for cabinet posts, it's (1) really starting to hit me how awful the next four years are likely to be, and (2) keeping me distressed for a greater portion of the day.

But I refuse to subject myself to the BE VERY AFRAID FOREVER headlines screaming at me more than once a day. (Even though they're not altogether wrong.)

That sounds like a good plan. I agree, looking at the cabinet posts gave me physical nausea and maybe I need to stop peeking at the news for a while.

That seems like a useful thing for when you need to get a capsule summary of how screwed everything is, without having to hunt up all of the various permutations of it.

Yeah, I sure wouldn't want to have to monitor all the news sources the way he does. And I'm realizing that I trust his reporting, although I couldn't give factual evidence for why.

Thanks! I saw that yesterday while browsing network. I wonder if someone just added it. Personally, I wouldn't want it in my regular reading list, since I like to be braced before I go peek at it.
