ETA 10/26/2011: linkdisk.com NOT RECOMMENDED, partly for having a whole lot of trouble making my website work properly, but mostly for being blacklisted by a major provider for over a week so my email keeps bouncing. Now trying pacifichost.com and crossing my fingers. *sigh*
END ETA

For those following along with my web host drama, dynadot.com was a complete bust. Their "support" consists of telling me it works fine for them and I have 30 days to get a refund on my account. Right.

So I searched on 'respectful cpanel web hosting' and found Link Disk. So far, I'm thrilled. The owner of the company answered the phone on a Saturday morning, communicated with me like an adult, and answered my questions with clear competence. Woo hoo!

Also at his suggestion I am now a "reseller" which I think will make it easier to manage the one other external website I take care of, plus all the separate little folk dance websites, etc. that I manage out of my own account.

So in the end, refusing to accept disrespect and bad service landed me somewhere with good service and a good price. Whew. I was starting to think it didn't exist. I'm hoping to be a happy, loyal Link Disk customer for many years.

PS: I will likely quit posting so much really soon, although I do have another couple of thinky posts brewing. I'm enjoying the sense of having companions on the journey from your responses. Thank you.

PPS: I haven't gotten in the habit of using cut tags. Is that bugging anybody?

PPPS: I biked up to Council Crest today as part of a 35 mile loop and I'm tired. It was fun, though.

Oh my goodness, please do not feel pressured to use cut tags. :) I'm really glad you kept pushing until you found a good company!
