New pots & pans
Aug. 15th, 2011 09:00 pmI think the new stainless steel pots & pans are helping! Or, to be accurate, the new pan - I've been taking this really slow and only used the big pan to make stir-fry so far. It's slightly smaller and cooks things a lot faster than the old big pan, so I've had to adjust my prep technique and not throw in quite as many vegetables.
I've been waking up earlier, with more energy, and haven't had any big energy crashes or anxiety spikes in the last three weeks. I still feel very tentative about the whole thing, although now that I'm writing here, it sounds like a firmly positive result.
Maybe trace gluten or chemicals from the old nonstick pans were causing a constant low-level irritation, and now that that's gone, I'll really start to heal. I'm worried partly because each change I've made in the past has led to more sensitivity rather than more resilience.
I've gotten a lot done in the last three weeks on my book. And I biked to Multnomah Falls yesterday, a 50 mile round trip with two long climbs. Oh, does my body love that steady peaceful climbing. I feel more like myself than I have in a long time. *Crosses fingers* that it lasts.
