A good day

I biked down to Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden to meet a friend I haven't seen in person in a couple of years. We don't get together often even without a pandemic, because she's busy with kids and full-time engineering job. It was so good to walk around and catch up on everything. We lucked out with a partly-sunny day, cool rather than cold, very pleasant to be outside.

Then I biked home, had lunch, and another friend came over and we went for a walk in the neighborhood and worked on a puzzle together.
1000 piece puzzle with two white birds, a nest with eggs, and many ferns in blues, greens, and yellows

After they left, I remembered it's the first night of Hanukah and lit candles and worked on the puzzle some more. Getting close to done! Unlike the past few years, I felt calm and happy to to be lighting candles on my own. I have been feeling so much better lately, not just on a day with more socializing than I've done in months.

Conversing with friends while walking* is the best (well, except singing). What I learn from our conversation seems to imprint on the body for multimodal memories later on.

That puzzle is mind blowing and beautiful.

Do you know of any puzzle exchanges where folks trade around a circle?

* Some folks have brain farts re using the term walking with me, which I attempt to reassure.
