In striking opposition to receiving kindness, today was bad support day.

Some of it was funny, like receiving confusing instructions from the insurance agent (my expensive Oakland apartment requires renters insurance), because she was emailing with another Sonia and got us mixed up. That has never happened in my life! Sonia is a relatively rare name, especially with that spelling. My condolences to the Susans and Davids out there.

Some of it was disappointing but not unexpected, like receiving a phone call from the garage door company asking for $50 for the visit on Saturday. I paid without arguing because the guy did come out, but it feels so much less warm and fuzzy.

Some of it was infuriating. I use 1Password to keep my passwords. It was refusing to sync between my new and old computers, and also *forgetting passwords* that I entered on the new computer. Aaaaaahhhhh!!! Just what I need when navigating a stressful leasing process, having to reset my password every time I log back in to their system.

1Password support is HORRIBLE. It took an entire week of polite insistent emails and doing whatever they asked me to (screenshots, etc) before someone admitted there was a problem and offered a solution, disconnect and reconnect to my account on the new machine.

That appears to have worked, and also I have canceled my subscription because I installed 1Password to remember passwords, I pay a subscription for it to sync across machines, and I emailed support because there was an urgent problem. 0 for 3 is not okay. It is SO FIRED.

Does anyone have recs for password managers? BitWarden looks like a good candidate. Any experiences with them? I use MacOS and iOS currently, if that matters.

I use LastPass, which has worked pretty seamlessly. (though I need to set up some time to do some cleanup in there.) I use it on my home computers (Macs), my work comptuter (Windows), and my phone (iOS)

It has a few quirks with specific sites (mostly forum software where there are multiple possible URL entry points that ask for a password), but it's pretty easy to sort that out.
